Reel Crime 1: Bank Heist Slots

Reel Crime 1: Bank Heist is the first game in a two-part series by Rival Gaming. Rival has created a collection of I-Slots, which tell a story as players continue playing the game.

Reel Crime perfectly fits into this category, because you move through four different phases of a bank heist. This includes stealing a key, breaking into the bank, blowing the safe, and making off with the money.

Is Reel Crime 1: Bank Heist the perfect crime? Or is it a botched bank robbery? We'll discuss which is the case below by looking at this game's atmosphere, story, betting options, and bonuses.

Nice Gangster Background with Poor Symbols

This 5-reel, 15-payline slot opens with an introduction, where mobsters are planning a bank robbery. You're then taken to a screen that explains the four phases of the heist. You'll also be shown a "Game Map," which offers a visual picture of each stage in the robbery.

The reels appear once you get past the introduction. You'll see bullet holes in the background along with faded graphics, which represent the old-gangster vibe. The best part of this is the spin button, which is fashioned into a safe dial.

We're not impressed with the symbol graphics, which deviate from the background and look like a failed attempt to introduce color into the game. The sound effects are also horrendous, including the spin sound effect, which reminds us of a B-2 Bomber flying overhead.

Symbols include a Tommy gun (bonus), moneybag (scatter payout), liquor, gangster, Billy club, dress shoes, top hat, and brass knuckles. The gangster pays the most, offering 750 coins for 5 symbols.

Game Format & Betting Options

Reel Crime lets you adjust the coin size, paylines, and coins per line. Coin size can be changed from $0.01 to $1.00, the lines can be adjusted from 1-15, and coins per line range from 1-10. You can bet as little as one penny or as much as $75.00 per spin, with all the options turned up.

As with other Rival Gaming slots, you can also use the autoplay feature to keep the real spinning with your selected betting options. The Auto button is located next to the Spin option in the lower right-hand corner.

Reel Crime 1: Bank Heist Special Features - Shooting Guns, Blowing Safes & More

The best part about Reel Crime 1: Bank Heist is definitely the bonus features. You trigger bonuses with symbols that vary based on which phase you're in. The Tommy gun triggers the bonus round in the beginning. This sees you shoot targets outside of a bank and try to get a key.

The next phase includes using the key to get inside the bank. Once inside, you'll be wait for 3 or more policemen to land another reels and get you to the Safe phase, where you need sticks of dynamite to blow the door open.

Here, you'll be looking for 3 or more safe symbols. Once you reach the vault, you'll use the dynamite to blow open the door and gain access to the money. This takes you to the final stage, where you must avoid being caught by the cops while making your getaway.

Besides this very detailed bonus, you can also look forward to free spins when landing sticks of dynamite. Two sticks earn you 1 free spin, three give you 5 free spins, four deliver 10 spins, and 5 give you 25 spins.

Reel Crime 1: Bank Heist - A Caper Worth Pursuing

We have a couple issues with Reel Crime 1: Bank Heist, including the lame sound effects and poor symbol graphics. But there's still enough in this game with the bonuses and overall theme to make Reel Crime 1 worth playing.

Rival did an excellent job of creating a multi-part bonus that's really tells a story. We especially like the first bonus round, where you shoot targets with a gun. If you're big on slots with added features, then you'll definitely want to check out Reel Crime 1: Bank Heist.
